These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EasyDualSub browser extension and website (the "Service"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
EasyDualSub is a browser extension that displays dual (bilingual) subtitles on supported streaming platforms — primarily by merging subtitle tracks the platform already provides, and optionally by generating a second language through a translation engine you choose. The Service is a subtitle tool. It does not host, provide, or grant access to any copyrighted video content; you must have lawful access to the content you watch through your own accounts and subscriptions.
Certain features — such as the managed translation backend — require an account and a paid subscription. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe according to the plan you select, and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account or billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
EasyDualSub lets you choose how a missing second language is generated. In addition to native subtitle merging (which requires no translation) and our managed backend, you may use free engines (such as Google Translate or Microsoft Translator), your own API key with a third-party provider (BYOK — for example DeepL, OpenAI, Groq, Gemini, or OpenRouter), or a local, self-hosted engine (Ollama). When you use a third-party engine, your use of that provider is governed by that provider's own terms, and you are responsible for the accounts and API keys you supply. Our Privacy Policy explains where subtitle text is sent in each mode.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior.
Translations produced by the Service are generated automatically by machine translation and language-model technology. While we aim for high accuracy, AI-generated translations may contain errors and are provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for how you rely on the generated output.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how subtitle text and account data are processed — including the native, managed, free-engine, BYOK, and local (Ollama) modes.
The EasyDualSub extension, website, branding, and underlying software are and remain our property. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service, only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it in accordance with these Terms.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every streaming platform or configuration at all times.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
